- Permeable paving is an intelligent approach to rainwater management around the home as it reduces the volume of water run-off into the sewers. The key advantage of concrete block permeable paving is that, due to the open graded sub-base, it allows rainwater to filter through the gaps between the blocks so it can soak slowly into the ground or it can be stored and harvested for irrigation.
